6. Resetting a forgotten password

Steps.

  1. On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?
  2. Type your Email address and select Send reset link.
  3. The reply is the same for every address, so check your inbox and spam folder.
  4. Open the reset email and select the link. It expires in 30 minutes.
  5. Type a new password on Choose a new password, then select Update password.

What happens next. Your other signed-in devices are signed out. Sign in again with the new password.

Common problems.

  • You are told to wait. Reset links are limited to 3 requests every 5 minutes.
  • An old link does not work. Request a new one. Each link works only once in its 30-minute window.
